Glenn Monroe – Vice Chairman of the Board

Glenn Monroe, recently named Vice Chairman of the Board for AccessBank, has had a diverse career and it isn’t over yet! After earning his BBA in Management and Finance, he played professional baseball for the Cleveland Indians. He followed that by working for an electrical contractor and then a publicly traded oil and gas company where he was the assistant to the CEO. After completing his MBA at TCU with a concentration in economics, Glenn began his banking career as an energy lender with MBank Fort Worth. He got his initial exposure to community banking when he joined First State Bank of Texas in Denton, to manage the commercial side of the bank. He eventually moved back to Fort Worth to start a de novo bank, Meridian Bank Texas. He served as Chairman and CEO of this bank until it sold to UMB. In addition to his career achievements, Glenn has also worked hard in a variety of outside organizations including serving as President of CASA of Tarrant County, President of the Petroleum Club of Fort Worth, as well as being a board member of the Lettermen’s Association of TCU. To top it off, he is a member of the TCU Athletic Hall of Fame and a current member of Ridglea Country Club. He and his wife Cathey live on the southwest side of Fort Worth. They love nothing more than spending time with their 11 grandchildren, making time to get out to the golf course, and spending time at their lake house on Lake LBJ.
